Wool Rugs

Introducing Easy Care Wool—new to Ruggable. Ideal for living rooms and bedrooms, natural wool fibers regulate temperature year-round, repel spills, and clean easily with spot care and suction...

About Ruggable Wool Rugs

Easy Care Wool is Ruggable’s premium natural-fiber collection, bringing the warmth, texture, and character of wool into a range of distinct constructions. The assortment spans soft neutrals, earthy tones, muted blues and greens, with both understated solids and patterned designs. Wool works especially well in living rooms, bedrooms, and offices, where its texture and substantial feel add depth and character to the space. Some styles are crafted from 100% wool, while others feature thoughtfully selected wool blends designed to improve abrasion resistance and reduce fiber breakage.

Unlike Ruggable’s machine-washable collections, Easy Care Wool is made for simple maintenance rather than machine washing.

Wool Texture and Feel

Wool has a naturally soft, cushioned feel with rich texture and visible depth. Its fibers are resilient, helping the surface feel substantial while recovering after pressure. Subtle variation in color and texture gives each rug its own character.

Within the collection, that feel changes by construction, from smoother handloom and flatweave styles to more dimensional handtufted, tufted, and looped surfaces. Select styles are handcrafted in India, and Lucien Rug is made with 100% New Zealand wool.

The Natural Benefits of Wool

Wool brings practical benefits alongside its rich texture and softness. Its naturally resilient fibers help the surface recover from footprints and furniture marks, while the fiber structure helps spills bead on the surface before soaking in. Wool’s natural insulation helps regulate comfort year-round, adding a softer layer over hard surfaces and taking the edge off cold wood or tile floors. Easy Care Wool Rugs are carefully crafted to minimize shedding, helping make routine upkeep simpler than many may expect from a wool rug.

Easy Care Wool Rugs FAQ

Not all of them. Lucien is made with 100% New Zealand wool, while other styles use wool blends that may include nylon or polyester (cotton/rayon). These blends were selected to improve abrasion resistance and help reduce shedding and fiber breakage.

No. Easy Care Wool rugs are not machine washable. They can be maintained with regular low-suction vacuuming and prompt spot care when spills happen.

Some initial shedding is normal with wool and varies by construction. Shedding is typically most noticeable during the first 3–6 months and should decrease over time with regular care. Lower than industry standard.

We highly recommend one. Easy Care Wool rugs do not have built-in nonslip backing, so a Rug Pad can help prevent slipping, add cushioning, and extend the life of the rug. We recommend the All-in-One Cushioned Rug Pad.

Choose based on the look, texture, and feel you prefer underfoot. The collection includes handloom, handtufted, tufted, flatweave, and loop constructions, each offering a distinct surface texture and dimension. Flatweave styles tend to feel smoother and more structured, while tufted and handtufted styles offer more noticeable texture and cushioning. Handloom styles can vary in weave, from refined finishes to more dimensional surfaces. For the best comparison, check each product’s details for its construction, pile, and fiber blend.

Yes. Wool is naturally resilient and helps resist surface dirt and stains, making it a practical option for active spaces. Because these rugs are not machine washable, prompt attention to spills and stains is especially important in homes with kids or pets.

What sizes are Easy Care Wool rugs available in?

Easy Care Wool rugs are available in 5x7, 6x9, and 8x10 sizes, offering flexibility across the home. They’re especially well suited to lower-traffic spaces like bedrooms, home offices, and living rooms.

In bedrooms, a 5x7 can work well in a smaller room or sit under the lower two-thirds of the bed, while a 6x9 and 8x10provide more coverage around a queen bed. For a king bed, 8x10 is the best fit within the collection.

In living rooms, a 5x7 can work well in a smaller layout, a 6x9 can sit under the front legs of a sofa and chairs, and an 8x10 can help anchor a larger furniture arrangement. The right size ultimately depends on your room dimensions, furniture placement, and how much floor coverage you prefer.
