Performance Weave FAQ
Our Re-Jute and Performance Weave rugs are two different takes on the jute style. Re-Jute features a flatwoven construction with more style options, designed specifically for indoor spaces. Like our Two-Piece System, it’s designed to be paired with a rug pad for added stability and comfort.
Performance Weave, on the other hand, has a thicker weave that more closely mimics the look and texture of natural jute. Built for both indoor and long-term outdoor use, it’s made to withstand the elements while delivering that organic, jute-inspired feel — with no separate rug pad needed thanks to its signature All-in-One backing.
Our Performance Weave rug is made from a 100% polypropylene top layer and a polyester woven backing with a silicone non-slip pattern. Polypropylene is naturally resistant to moisture, UV rays and mildew, making Performance Weave ideal for outdoor spaces such as patios, verandahs and entryways — areas exposed to more sun, dirt and foot traffic than a typical indoor room.
Performance Weave has a maximum height of 8.45 mm (0.33 in). We don’t recommend placing it next to a door if the door clearance is 8.45 mm or lower.
Your Performance Weave rug is naturally stain-resistant and easy to spot clean, so you won’t need to wash it often. When you do, follow these steps:
Remove the rug and place it in the washer with the design side facing out. Machine wash cold with a mild, non-bleach detergent. Do not use bleach or fabric softener.
For 245x305cm rugs, we recommend taking them to a laundrette with commercial-sized washers. For more details, check out our Washing Guide.
Tumble dry thoroughly on low heat. Moisture can affect the nonslip backing, so make sure your rug is fully dry before putting it back on the floor. Recommended dry cycles:
One cycle: 60x90cm, 90x150cm, and all runners
Two cycles: 150x215cm
Three cycles: 185x275cm and 245x305cm
Tip: After the first cycle, remove the rug, adjust any damp areas, and run the next cycle for even drying.
Once fully dry, unroll or unfold your rug. If it's sliding, it likely needs one more dry cycle — when it's fully dry, it won't move around.
